Definition of Network:
    Connection of different devices
Or interconnection of several different stations by                          communication link
Or network is a logical extension of a data communication             system

Purpose:
The purpose of the network is to communicate with each other or
To share resources with each other, all hardware/software

Elements of Network:
Following are the main element of the construction of the network.
1. Terminal
2. Interconnecting device
3. Communication lines
4. Another interconnecting device
5. Another terminal

Types of Network:
1. LAN: (local area network):
A LAN is a connection of a personal computer that enables users to share data application software and peripherals.
Explanation: LAN can be as simple on 2, or 3 PCs or connected with each other to share some data application software or hardware.

2. MAN (Metroplitium Area connection):
It is an extension of LAN
Or It is the interconnection of devices within a city, town, village, etc.
Explanation: MAN can be as simple as the interconnection of different labs in the same building.

3. WAN:
    It is the digital Communication system capable of interconnecting a large number of computers, terminals,s and other peripheral devices to communicate with each other nationwide and worldwide.
Explanation: All the hardware is commonly linked with telephones lines, the medium of transmission in WAN can be salite or micro ways depending on the requirement
Example: Airports are connected with each other

Advantages:
  1. The network allows data transmission among different terminals or station
  2. Networks allow the different users to share resources
  3. Networks allow users to solve different problems
  4. The cast of computing is reduced as compared to a single computer system
